New Arrivals!

Not only do Melvin and Milo have new goats and turkeys to contend with in their paddock, they’ve lost their bed! It looks like the new goats, Blossom and Petal have claimed their bed for themselves! That must have been the third unfortunate event for the day. Injections, testicles banded and they’ve lost their bed. Poor boys! That’s what happens when the girls move in!

The turkeys have been separated from the ducks after a pecking incident so alternative plans have been made for them. They will overnight in the old chicken house until the chicken barn is ready. During the day they will have access to the Donkey Cafe paddock to graze. This paddock, conveniently, has excellent cover, space and lots of grass!

The ducklings have shade, water access and can be supervised on camera! They will remain there until they are bigger! I wonder if we should hold off naming them until their feathers come in? I have a feeling they may look very different soon!

The weather is heating up again but, at the moment, there’s a suggestion of a few days of rain from Wednesday. This would be much appreciated because the paddocks are rather crispy at the moment and some restoration hydration would be a wonderful part of the weather rotation!

We’ll sign off now because we’re all off to learn about our new feathered friends and attempt to accommodate their every need!
